1977-gang-1Following the exploits of 4 late 70s stoners, The typical 1977 the comic features long haired rocker types, boobs, and copious amounts of marijuana humor. ( So, this isn’t one for the kids. Not like they would get the Quantum Leap and 4-track recorder references anyway. ) This comic is definitely a child of the 1970s,  heavy doses of nostalgia humor fun to be had. But for us late comers, Mr. W. Byron Wilkins has mixed in a hearty amount of general gags and modern pop-culture plugs.  It’s easy  to find something to chuckle about in his 1+ year archive of comics.

You can check out 1977 the c0mic 5 days a week; which is remarkable for such a large colored comic. And be sure to visit the other WCP collective comics while your at it.

I want to plug Adam Smithee’s Apple of Discord, a fellow WCP collective member.

Adam has created a chaotic comic of webcomic  snarkery and nerd pop culture commentary. This is all coated in a crude style that compliments the running theme of chaos and experimentation. Jokes range from the Archer of Discord’s attack on webcomic cliches, devouring potential mascots, and Dr. Wily’s questionable robot creations.

The comic is safe for most audiences except for maybe the younger kids, PG13, with occasional light cursing. Comics are presented in full color and are usually 4×4 if not more in size. Plus they are all hand drawn ( Vie Wacom tablet mostly ) with no sprite repetition, Adam even presents a few drawn vie colored pencil and crayons, a nice bonus.

So, go get your geek on with  Apple of Discord.
