I dont get it, who are these humans? Why would they cause mutations that look like manufactured objects from the human(stray) world? It makes no sense, unless that was what the child human was attempting all along and the parents stepped in not to stop it but to show it how it was done…
Nope, the human child is most likely similar to me, when I get bored of a toy or similar object I intentionally destroy it for fun. and I still stick by my theory that the “Humans” are magic users from the stray world. Or she could be like Alice in wonderland and be having a really bad trip.
My theory is that the “humans” are dreamers from our world, while the “strays” are the ones that get sucked in… as physical participants, they don’t have control over the “dream”.
It would certainly account for much of the surrealism, and seems nicely foreshadowed in Emily’s opening dream… not to mention the batshit-insane behaviour of the “humans”!
