You know, this comic reminds me a lot of stuff i saw in the 60′s and 70′s;
the visual detail (good), the deviation from overworked tropes (good) and the complete disregard for plot or story arc (not so good). Even if this is all some hallucination Emily is having form the chemicals in the supply closet it would be nice if some of the question this comic raised where occasionally answered.
…I wonder if this is a scan and re-inking of a work from that era?
Should we ask for “proof of life”? how about a hookah on a panel in #270?
Hello Line Noise, thanks for reading Astray3,
I will take most of that as a compliment. You are correct in your comparisons to 60′s and 70′s work, I draw a lot of inspiration from comics around that period. I’m happy you made that connection. To confess, plot lines and story arcs are secondary to entrainment value in my work. This is a rather classic view of comic creation, but the one I like. Anyway, if I gave you all the answers up front, would there be any reason to keep reading.
All your patience will be rewarded soon though, there are some major plot reveals popping up soon. The Conservatives side story will provide some insight and at the end of Chapter 10 there will be a first act epilogue.
Thanks for the response. I am mostly enjoying the comic. Yes there is some frustrations when it deviates from the way _I_ would do a comic but then you don’t see me doing one do you… so i will try to keep my nagging low key. I am glad to hear that some explanations will be forthcoming – and no i would not want all my questions answered until the comic concludes, which considering its quality will hopefully not be too soon.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate getting a genuine outside opinion of how Astray3 is progressing. Usually I’m so buried in the creation process that only the grindstone in front of my nose is visible. Also, I don’t expect my decisions to always groove 100% with the audience.
How are you supposed to stop?
Suddenly
DAAAAAAAAAAANG! is it just me or did umway get short?
Haha I like Willy. I hope he comes back later =D For now I will eagerly await your next pages 8D
“Stopping? Why, you just use your mind powers to manipulate the air around you and… Wait, did you learn to do that yet?”
“@#&$ YOU WILLY!”
Can’t let a good pun die
ZOMG, you are killing me.
Yup, that’s my aim. I will finish the job your death metal habits began.
Oh great, it just adds another cliffhanger, and doesn’t even resolve the previous one
