As usual the detail just blows me away- I am so floored about your work. One of the reasons I follow. I really love the detail in panel 1 that cart, the alley. It’s those little things that make it all worth while.
keep it up.
How long was it between the creation of the mutants and the current events? On one hand it seems a long time, but then Fido suggests he hasnt eaten… but he hasnt starved to death either. Perhaps he gains some minor nutrition from the shells.
Yes, Fido was attached to the big creature. Which could suggest he was getting some small amount of nutrition from it’s blood stream. Otherwise, Fido was probably living off of scraps or whatever he could pick out of the big dude’s hair.
So I started from the beginning and made it all the way to the current page.
Good sir, you are a shining beacon in the webcomic scene. There are so many webcomics that are good WEBCOMICS, but ASTRAY3 is something I would say is a masterpiece like Bone or Calvin and Hobbes/Phantom/Prince Valiant.
He’s right, you know. You have a powerful and innovative sense if visual creation that makes your web comic unlike any other I have seen. You go from strength to strength. Looking forward to the next Astray3 installment. Aero Ranger
I just read your entire comic- though it seems you get that comment nearly every page. Still, I wanted to say, out of the hundreds of web comics I have read over the last seven years yours takes the cake. I cannot tell you how many times I was floored by your innovative and imaginative creations during the hours I spent rising through the archive. I cannot count the amount of times I burst out laughing or sat on the edge of my seat- inches from my screen- while I followed our dear Emily’s misadventure. My admiration doesn’t stop with just Emily though; the amount of personality and depth produced by every new character made me enamored with each of these fantastic beings.
I am head over heels in love with this story. I cannot express enough how happy I am to have had the chance to read it.
Aaaand caught up. Awesome comic. Less than six hours, too, I’m impressed with myself.
Of course, I binged the entirety of Questionable Content’s archives in less than a day last month, so I suppose I have a history of fast reading. Again, thanks for adding to my list.
I happened across this site almost entirely by accident about a week ago, but I’ve fallen in love with it!
I read through it about halfway that first day before realizing there was actually a translation card for all that alien speech. The rest of the week was me going back and painstakingly translating… but it was fun! Grats on creating your own written language and be proud of the awsome artistry/storyline! A weeks worth of translating was worth it
Just finished my rampage through the archives. What an incredible world – thanks for sharing it!
I can see that your artwork has really matured over the course of the comic. I do miss the black-and-white updates, though – those were really great too.
Whatever you’re able to put up here, know that it’s appreciated!

*sniff* I think it’ll be sad if we see Fido go down. He has seemed very self-sacrificial through this whole thing and maybe thats more an indication of his unwillingness to continue living in his present state. Then again, maybe he still believes in the “Humans” and thinks he’s deserving of this punishment thats been dealt to him.
…Maybe he’s responsible for the “Human’s” anger. Makes some sense that Eldon reveals a bit more about the situation with the “Human” before we leave since this is where it took place.
P.S. how is the revamp of previous pages for the book coming along?
Pertaining to the revamps: I’m working on the pages in story chunks to cut down on confusion. Next chunk is about halfway done. ( It will cover the whole Emily waking up and family interaction bits. )

Was he physically attached to the big beast?
Yes, Fido was attached to the big creature. Which could suggest he was getting some small amount of nutrition from it’s blood stream. Otherwise, Fido was probably living off of scraps or whatever he could pick out of the big dude’s hair.

It makes me cry tears of joy, man.

Updates maybe late, they maybe sparse, but they are coming.
