Apparently strays can also turn the waterworks up to 11. Is that a defense mechanism?

Now you mention it, that would be a terrific defense mechanism! Her tears can melt hearts and faces!!

The real reason for the over-rendered water works: I’ve been reading a lot of “Battle Angel” comics lately. Whenever someone cries in that comic, it looks like their face is melting. (ROFL!) Also, I drew some inspiration from Jamie Hewitt’s “Tank Girl”. Whenever he draws profuse sweating, it has the texture of melting wax.

      So there you go…

*LOL* Gotta love Tank Girl. I didn’t quite know what to make of the waterworks. I was figuring that maybe there was heaps of mud, blood and alien bits stuck to her face as well.

I wonder what would happen if she spat on an alien like Umway or the Avalonians if they ment her harm.

Is it just me or have her eyes doubled in size since about 215? Looking at 204 they seem much smaller. I guess she’s been frightened the whole time but even in normal conversations with Willy they’ve still seemed larger than earlier.

I keep waiting for the pain to stop and Emily to finally get some rest and respite but I guess she’ll have to go through the whole upper city and get back out in time to catch up with Thunga and Featherton before lights out… Or was “Lights out next Lou” talking about tomorrow night?

Oh. And here I thought she was asking “why is that side of the town ‘pretty empty of life forms’ these days?”

Because that would be a good question to ask.

I like this strip; it seems to sum up the whole comic thus far.

Thanks Shoe. You maybe right about this strip summing up the comic as a whole.

    Ouch!

If I had to pick one question I’d ask it’d probably be “How do I get home” but then I’d probably get an answer as useless as the one he’s given anyway. Granted, we all want to know the answers to the other questions (Why her, is one I’m particularly interested in) but I think she’d be very happy just to get out of this entire mess rather than have a greater understanding of it.

As for the jetbike question, looks like Umway can use his psychic powers to completely disassemble it and put it back together in various ways. Heck, he’s not even looking while he does it. My guess is he’s turning that side engine into the gun/device that’ll create the “hole”

Astray 214 seems to show that Umway really is helping her out for the lulz as well as some compassion, but I do wonder what he knows about how and why various humans are appearing in the Astray universe.
