I guess the other one to remember is that she truly hasn’t seen these humans for herself and the story she’s been told is a 3rd hand retell with pictures from Ramon’s recount and build, not a real flash-back.
In that sense, it could be that human blood harming their foes is a natural part of the world and that the events of the courtyard are a result of advanced human technology rather than godly powers, etc.
They might have all sorts of teleportation devices, suits of armour with lasers, and the ability to swap matter from our world with stuff from the ASTRAY3 world.
Heck the story could even be built on lies that Anom told his father and which others have told for an unknown reason.
I wonder if it functions as an eye and Anom just keeps it covered because its freaky looking, or if its a regular non-functioning eight ball painfully fused with his body?
WOW! I figured there’s be some funny thing there rather than just a missing eye but I was betting on some small arm or fish scales or something animal like from the ASTRAY3 world.
I’m doubtful there are such things as pool tables and 8 balls in this world so that tells me the ‘Humans’ must either be from or be aware of Earth and the game.
Why has no one asked if it is a magic 8 ball? And if it is, can he see the future?
Hehe, I honestly thought about that.
will Emily ever make it back home?
*shake shake shake*
…
“maybe?”
…
well, so much for that.
i think it’s because the humans are turning this world to their shape.

Interesting theory.
